Third Year

Between the third and fourth year students take a paid Academic Internship in the industry, before returning for the fourth year of study.

The Academic Internship is a paid internship, students are required to complete 420 hours, between May and September.

Students can take extended Academic Internships and suspend their studies for a year in order to complete their Academic Internship. Students have taken as long as 18 month internships in the past and returned to be very successful in the program.

To be successful in your studies take note of the submission deadlines and plan your work accordingly. Due to the nature of the work (requiring research, planning and iteration), you will not be successful starting your project the night before submission. On weeks that you have no deadlines, work on projects and discuss your work with your professor to ensure you are being successful. You should always bring your progress to class each week.

Always Seek Academic Advising Before Dropping Courses!

Never drop a required course without consultation and academic advising from your Academic Advisor, Myles Bartlett (myles.bartlett@sheridancollege.ca). There may be serious academic penalties in terms of not having the required course(s) necessary to continue to the next level of study.
